I’ll be the first one to admit that I grew up as a slightly spoiled, only child. I grew up getting all the things my heart desired; I asked, I received, and I hardly had to share. Now that I’m older and slightly more mature, I’m slowly learning it doesn’t quite work the same way. Realistically, we can’t just snap our fingers and expect magic. Millions and billions of dollars can’t buy true, genuine happiness. No matter how hard we try, there are certain aspects of life that are out of our control and we can’t force things to happen.
That being said, it doesn’t mean we can’t follow our hearts and chase our dreams; it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t passionately pursue amazing feats and ambitious goals. It means that with solid effort, persistence, and dedication – we absolutely CAN achieve greatness.
I like to believe that in a lot of cases, we can get what we want. I don’t think this way because of how I was raised, but because I’ve seen it happen; I’ve done it and you can too.
You just gotta’ believe in yourself and be about it. So get out there; face your fears, take risks, and do the unthinkable. You’ll be surprised at how much you can have because you took a chance and tried.
